Welcome to A Life Examined

What is the examined life? A life worth living! As I look at the road ahead, I take all the baggage from the past and use it as experience - the pain and the passion, the sorrow and the joy - allowing it to carve wisdom into my mind and hope into my spirit.
There is no experience that can't be useful to me at some point in my life. There is no lesson learned that cannot make a contribution to the future.
A tiny drop of water is a part of the ocean. A tiny speck in the night sky is a ginormous star in the distance. It all depends on perspective.
So, this examined life is to offer reflections in the hope of discussing things which are of value to myself and to others.
Love, Sarah

My "Perfect" Life - part 11

Indeed... boy, I got that wrong!

Shortly after I woke up, the telephone rang and the call was for me.

It was principal I'd spoken to the day before. He had a job offer for me. Wow!

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the sort of situation I'm recounting: Imagine yourself, unemployed,
a specialist in a field where there are SO MANY specialists that prospects are slim to nil. But here I was, standing in the kitchen of my sister's place, with a job offer that would bring me back to the place I loved to live, more than any other place I'd ever known, and to do a job for which I was trained but relatively inexperienced. Unheard of!

I accepted the job, sorted out the contract and arranged to make the permanent move (after spending the summer with my parents and having had my furniture in storage).

And from that day I honoured my promise: I've followed God to the best of my understanding and ability, ever since.

God is Faithful!

This is just about the exact place where I sat and made my decision to stay in Kingston, 30 years ago. The shoreline hasn't changed much at all... but I have.

What decision have you made that enabled you to move on in your life in a way that is so positive, so uplifting, you'd like to share it here? (or email me at laruspress@gmail.com for a more private discussion)

So that is how you came to Kingston to teach. Incredible!

When the wrestle between head and heart leave us immobile, God steps in if we've left Him room!

Anonymous, Jeannie - thank you so much for your thoughts and comments. I need to keep asking questions and take my time to find the answers to dialogue, to relationships, to life!
So in that light: a question for anyone: is there a moment in time that you remember that changed your life forever?
